I'm interested to hear about anyone's experience with education initiatives for marine conservation.

Some colleagues and I are thinking about putting together some curriculum and volunteers to give presentations and lead activities at local elementary/middle/high schools. Our goals will include raising awareness for specific conservation challenges, getting students excited about solving those challenges, and giving them an opportunity to get involved doing so (through civic engagement, volunteering, changing their habits).

Have you had any experience with organizations teaching these subjects in the classroom, or engaging children in these sorts of topics?

What would you prioritize in setting up this sort of organization?
