I like the idea of being able to quickly add / check a product based on the bar code, that is a really fast way to get answers. Wonder if there is a way to tie in the FindGreen API to Yelp or Zagat some other broadly-used system so that people can access the app just as quickly...?
@Michael Lally , do you have a connection with anyone at Buycott, or did you mention because you saw some overlap in the products?

Buycott - app also about ethical consumption, but uses a diff model, could compare, share members?
I tried to post this a while back but the site had issues - there's an app called Buycott that allows you to see existing boycott campaigns on various products for ethical reasons, from environmental to human rights, etc., and you can scan UPC codes with it, which is a similar idea but different I know, however I feel like you could maybe team up re. they have campaigns but not ratings, like if someone is boycotted, they want to know who's the best alternative out there and you'd have that sort of info? anyways one of the other reasons I suggest looking into them is they have an existing user base of "ethical consumers" that's like over a million if I recall? also you might ask look at how they launched to get an idea of how other sort of "ethical consumption" apps have succeeded or failed in the past? does this make sense?

Alas, I do not have a connection there, just saw the overlap and thought it could be helpful.
Thank you - great ideas! I’ll look into. I’ll also mention to Klerify which rates grocery items.
