SMD LED sensors - 2020 July Updates
We have had some promising luck right at the start, trying out a technique to use ultra cheap SMD LEDs as ultra sensitive (and ultra small!) light sensors.
If this keeps working through our next set of prototypes, we can make a bunch of densely packed LED strips (even on FLEXIBLE PCBS) that could hopefully be sensitive enough to detect ants moving nearby on any surface! And all this at the cost of just a couple of dollars.
