Fishery Platform for Fishers

Hybrid profit model, No IP to protect, Scaling Phase, Eager to add new members
Marine GPS Navigation System with regulation such as Marine Protected Areas, No-Take Zones . Provides transparency and traceability for Seafood.

The Problem

As per the UN Goals SGD 14 - Life Below Water, each country needs to expand the Marine Protected Areas for the Conservation of the Ocean. The Goal also aims to help the Artisanal Fisheries with higher Income. Many developing Countries find it difficult to implement since they do not have the technology or very costly to bring this solutions to the fishermen community. Also the commercial fishing activity usually takes place near sea-shore where the Artisanal Fishers livelihood depends. This creates a economic loss for Artisanal fishers. The Seafood supply chain is very complex that no one knows about the traceable data like where the fish comes from, when was caught and who caught it. To implement such solutions for developing countries, the cost of Software & Hardware are very high and fishermen have to use too many gadgets like GPS, Vessel Monitor System, Blockchain for Traceability to meet the regulatory measures. But still the solutions does not bring much result to the Conservation of Ocean.

Our Proposal

We have come up with a Single Platform with Android based Navigation System to resolve it. It is much cheaper and affordable for every one. Our software allows the Govt to define the Marine Protected Areas, No-Take zones, Internation/Territorial borders so that fishers are aware of the rules in the sea. It also does the vessels tracking system so that it can report the authority of any illegal fishing. By bringing regulations, Govt can plan the Marine Resources. The platform helps in connecting the fishermen and fish buyer without the middlemen to increase the income. Fishermen are the source of data which are very much needed for Scientist and Govt. The platform helps to collect data that can be valuable to the Govt.

We Assume that...

1. We have already developed the solutions and have over 700+ fishermen using our navigation system.

2. Fishery Port in India has shown interest to use our software and hardware to bring Regulation for fishing

3. We have received interest from Online Seafood companies for proving Seafood Traceability with QR code.

Constraints to Overcome

Technology and Cost effective solutions are the major need to address this issues. Since we have all the integrated features into a Single platform, it is a big breakthrough in solving the Conservation Issues.

Current Work

we want to implement this solutions in India where 200,000 fishermen are present. We want to bring regulation on Sea by Vessel Tracking. We want to connect fishermen and fish buyer directly with Seafood Traceability.
