SOAP FROM WASTE OIL

The Problem

Used cooking oil is a serious polluter of the environment. 25% of water pollution is as a result of poor dumping of the used cooking oil. When this oil gets to the ground, it seeps into the water, reacting with oxygen in the water to reduce availability of oxygen in the water. This has resulted in the decline in some fish species. Water pollution and pollution of environment in general contributes to the spread in hygiene related diseases. So we are addressing the effects of pollution caused by used cooking oil.

Our Proposal

The solution is first to collect the used cooking oil then we use it to make affordable high quality multipurpose bar soaps.

We Assume that...

We assume that all hotel managers will accept to give us all the used cooking oil they have produced.

We assume that the soap we make from the used cooking oil will be the cheapest in the market.

We assume that the bar soap we make will be one of the highest quality in the market.

Constraints to Overcome

The main barrier is how to collect all the used cooking oil from various hotels, restaurants, tourist sites, hospitals and any other place where they are producing used cooking oil as a waste product.

Current Work

Contacting more outlets producing used cooking oil as a waste. Refining our product to be better. Coming up with other varieties of soap. Developing digital marketing for our product.

Current Needs

We need more funds to manage our operations. We need more people who have some skills in soap making so that we work together.
